The Gertrude Street Projection Festival turns Gertrude Street Fitzroy into a free public media-art gallery for ten nights every July. The Gertrude Association brings together artists and animators with local residents, traders and community groups to illuminate familiar buildings with projection art of all shapes, sizes and styles. This year, the theme for the festival was Elements.

We transformed earth, fire, air and water into cheeky pranksters spreading their elemental tricks across the facade in an old-fashioned slapstick fight to the death. Or as we heard one appreciative punter describe it: "You can't go wrong with a farting cloud."
